Hi, I’m Lisa Hancock, LPC, nCC
I am a wife of over 20 years and mother of two daughters. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed my Bachelor of Arts in Social Services from Belhaven University. I then went on to obtain my Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and my National Counseling Certification.
In my career as a counselor, my clients have consisted of adults (individuals, families, and groups) who struggle with chemical dependency and mental health issues such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I currently work in private practice counseling children, adolescents, and adults facing anxiety, depression, anger, and low self-esteem, among other mental health challenges.
An idea of what you can expect at your initial visit with me will include completing an intake assessment which will help me to get to know you better. This will consist of personal information such as biological, psychological, and social histories, as well as current situations. It normally takes approximately 50 minutes to an hour to complete. With this, I will be able to target specific issues that may be problematic for you and work with you to create personalized counseling goals. I utilize eclectic psychotherapy which includes a combination of techniques to most meet the needs of my clients. I look forward to helping you be your best possible self.
